Fake Eyelashes, sometimes called falsies by some makeup artists, are some of the best tools that a stylist can use to achieve a certain look. With so much variety that can be chosen, there’s always that one special set that you can always rely on. Although, we do admit that putting on falsies can be a hassle with every single step you have to get right. Sometimes it might even take up to half an hour to put them on if you’re not used to it yet.

Here at Ishimmer, we want all our clients to have a good experience when they’re wearing one of our fabulous products. With that, we want to give you some quick tips and style suggestions to use with our set of fake eyelashes. Keep reading and we’ll help you achieve that elusive look that you’ve always been going for!

Quick Tips For Wearing Our Falsies!

    1. Get yourself a nice mascara from a great brand!

When you’re using any set of fake eyelashes, especially if it’s one of ours, we want to make sure that you’re getting a good brand of mascara to pair with it. Mascaras can help if you’re a bit pressed for time and can’t get a proper curl out of your lashes. A good mascara brand won’t affect the adhesive you’re using on your false lashes, with the best ones usually being water-based mascara formulations.

Of course, there are a lot of oil-based mascaras that you can use as well. Some stylists and professional models have commented that these mascara formulations might be able to remove the adhesive or even cause your lash strip to lose adhesion since the oils dissolve adhesives. Don’t get mascaras that utilize some sort of “lash-hugging fiber” as well because they have some pretty nasty effects on eyelash adhesives.

    2. Apply it lightly and carefully to avoid messing up the look!

Stylists and fashion aficionados suggest keeping the mascara on the lighter side, with most settling for a single thin coat of it. Usually, the mascara is applied onto the natural lashes before you start setting up your false lashes. This is because you want your falsies to property stick and to look seamless. Putting a heavy coat of mascara might also make it harder for you to remove your fake eyelashes at the end of the day!

    3. Be sure to place your falsies in the right place!

Lastly, you’ll want to make sure that your fake eyelashes, whether they’re corner lashes or another kind, are placed in the right spot. Strip lashes are usually cut down and placed first on the middle of the lash and slowly attached with the help of tweezers. From there, you’ll be working on it from the center to both its ends slowly and carefully. Make sure your adhesive and nice and tacky before you start putting on your false lashes!

One big mistake we see is that newcomers tend to keep their falsies a bit too far from their natural lashes, leaving a visible gap between both. This can ruin the look and forego all the natural benefits you get from minimalistic sets of false lashes. To create a seamless look with your lashes, you’ll have to be brave and get them closer or use a thin liner to hide the visible gap. Don’t worry though because most water-based lash adhesives can easily and painlessly be removed by just washing your face!
